Creating Your Account
CO-OP is an invitation-only community. This guide walks you through the process of joining and setting up your account.
Receiving an invitation
To join CO-OP, you need an invitation from someone who’s already a member. When a friend invites you, you’ll receive an email with a link to create your account.
If you’re interested in CO-OP but don’t have an invitation yet, reach out to a friend who’s already using it. Each member can invite people they personally know and trust.
Creating your account
When you click the invitation link, you’ll be taken to the signup page. Here’s what you’ll need to provide:
- Email address — This will be used for login and notifications
- Username — A unique identifier for your account (others will see this)
- Password — Choose something secure that you’ll remember
After submitting the form, you’ll receive a verification email. Click the link in that email to confirm your address and activate your account.
Setting up your profile
Once your account is active, you can personalize your profile:
- Display name — Your name as it appears to friends (e.g., “Alex” instead of “alex123”)
- Contact preferences — How you’d like to be reached about loans
To edit your profile, click on your profile icon in the navigation and select “Edit Profile.”
Your first connection
When you join via invitation, you’re automatically connected to the person who invited you. This means:
- You can see items in their catalog
- They can see items in your catalog
- You can request to borrow from each other
From there, you can invite others or accept invitations from friends of friends to grow your network.
Next steps
Now that your account is set up, you’re ready to:
- Add items to your catalog — Share what you’re willing to lend
- Browse your friends’ catalogs — See what’s available to borrow
- Invite more friends — Grow your trusted network
